Cat Grant is back on Supergirl! Just maybe not the way you remember her. The CW drama took us back in time to when a younger Kara and Alex were still living in Midvale and their paths crossed with a feisty young Cat Grant.

Last night, fans were finally privy to The Flash’s Barry Allen showing up on the CBS series Supergirl. During the episode, a competent Cat Grant was easily able to point out the fact that Barry Allen is actually the Flash, prompting many people to wonder if she has actually been equally as capable at deciphering Kara’s identity. So far, those close to the show are keeping a little bit mum, although executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed those fans may not be too far off. Here’s what he had to say in a recent interview. 

There’s a number of people that assume that she does know and just doesn’t say anything. Both are safe bets. We haven’t firmed up if and when we [will] clarify that point. I think it’s kind of enjoyable to appreciate the show both ways.

Greg Berlanti certainly knows how to make a germane point while not giving away too much information. While speaking to TV Line, the executive producer noted there are fans on both sides of the argument, although it’s not actually possible for both opinions to be “safe bets.” Eventually, we are either going to learn that Cat Grant does know Kara Danvers is Supergirl or we are going to see her have that epiphany moment on the small screen. Obviously, the creative team is playing around with those concepts at this point and plans to keep us in the dark about the possibility for a while.

However, during the next episode, the super-powered lady actually put together a ruse to make it seem like she was in two places at one time. What actually happened was that J’onn shapeshifted so that Kara and Supergirl could be in the same room simultaneously. Since then, Cat has been more open to the idea that Kara is still just a goofy executive assistant. 

Kara and Supergirl obviously look pretty damn similar, even though Kara wears the (unnecessary) glasses. Still, just a few weeks ago, DC’s Superman Henry Cavill went walking around the streets of New York while wearing a Superman shirt and no one batted an eyelash at him, much less asked for a photo. So, superheroes are still able to hide in plain sight.

I’d like to think that Cat Grant is a smart cookie who is biding her time with the Supergirl secret. That’s better than thinking she’s so into her media empire and herself that she can’t see what’s (or more so who's) two feet in front of her during work hours. But if that’s the direction Supergirl is going in, it looks like we aren’t going to know right away.

CBS’ Supergirl is actually finishing out its Season 1 run in just a few short weeks. The network only ordered 18 episodes for its freshman run, and the last one will air on Monday, April 18 at 8 p.m. ET. Although CBS has renewed a lot of series this spring, the network has yet to make a determination on Supergirl, yet. We’ll let you know as soon as we know.

Bei dem Interview verplappert sich Supergirl und Cat Grant erfährt, dass sie und Superman Cousine und Cousin sind.

Wie jeden Tag ist Kara Danvers im Restaurant Zimtschnecken. James Olsen erscheint, um seinen Tee abzuholen und Alex Danvers erscheint, um mit Kara zu reden. Da wird im Fernsehen berichtet, dass Superman und Supergirl miteinander verwandt sind.

Bei CatCo Worldwide Media erzählt Cat Grant, dass sie eine Spezialausgabe des Monatsmagazins veröffentlichen wird und Kara soll dafür eine Lounge Party für 1000 Gäste organisieren. Außerdem soll sie Dave an einen anderen Tisch setzen.

Durch einen Bericht im Fernsehen erfährt auch Reactron, dass Superman und Supergirl Cousin und Cousine sind.

Auch Hank Henshaw ist nicht begeistert über das Interview. Kara erzählt ihrer Schwester, dass sie es für James Olsen getan hatte und Agent Vasquez berichtet über einen Verkehrsunfall.

Supergirl fliegt hin und befreit eine eingeklemmte Busfahrerin. Doch dann erscheint Reactron und greift Supergirl an. Aber weil sein Anzug Schäden davonträgt, fliegt er davon. Aber das D.E.O. will bei Reactron nicht tätig werden, da er ein Mensch ist.

Bei CatCo will Cara mit Cat über die Party sprechen, aver Cat ist zu nervös. Danach führt Winn Schott Kara und James in das ehemalige Büro von Ned Flaherty, weil es die neue Supergirl-Zentrale werden soll. Dort möchte James Kara überreden Superman zu Hilfe zu holen, aber Kara lehnt ab.

Bei Lord Technologies möchte Maxwell Lord, dass der neue Superzug blaue Streifen bekommt und eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 500 km/h haben soll. Da erscheint Reactron und sucht einen Experten für Kerntechnologie, Maxwell Lord bietet sich an. Aufgrund eines Fernsehberichts fliegt Supergirl zu Lord Technologies und erfährt dort, dass Maxwell Lord entführt wurde.

Am Telefon erklärt Kara einer Person, dass alle Hostessen während der Party Supergirl-Outfit tragen sollen, als Alex erscheint und ihre Hilfe bei der Jagd auf Reactron anbietet. Sie teilt mit, dass Reactrons Waffensystem mit Thorium 232 angetrieben wird, welches man nur im Bakerline Kernkraftwerk findet.

Ben Krull hat Maxwell Lord gefesselt und verlangt von ihm, dass er seinen Anzug repariert.

Kara tut gegenüber Cat Grant ihre Meinung über den Supergirl-Artikel kund. Da wird Kara von James Olsen herausgeholt, weil er ihr mitteilen will, dass Winn den Aufenthaltsort von Reactron auf einem Schrottplatz gefunden hat.

Supergirl fliegt hin und befreit Maxwell Lord. Da greift Reactron an und scheint den Kampf zu gewinnen. Doch Superman erscheint und Reactron flieht.

Kara kommt wieder in ihrem Apartment zu sich und sieht einen Fernsehbericht, in dem sich Maxwell Lord bei seinem Retter Superman bedankt. Von James erfährt Kara, dass er es war, der Superman zur Hilfe gerufen hat. Nachdem James gefangen ist, bekommt Kara von Alex ein Kleid aus dem D.E.O. Fundus für die Party.

Auf der Party macht Cat Grant Kara Vorwürfe, weil sie zu spät gekommen ist, aber Winn rettet sie und tanzt mit Kara. Cat Grant tanzt mit Maxwell Lord.

Im D.E.O. Hauptquartier bemerkt Hank Kenshaw, dass Alex ihrer Schwester gegen Reactron hilft und beschließt, mitzumachen.

Auf der Party erscheint James um mit Kara zu tanzen und ihr zu erklären, warum er Superman gerufen hat. Da erscheint Reactron und verlangt nach Supergirl. Und Kara verschwindet um als Supergirl zurückzukommen. Beim darauffolgenden Kampf rettet Supergirl Winn vor einer unstürzenden Säule und James Olsen lockt Reactron nach draußen.

Alex Danvers und Hank Henshaw nehmen Kontakt mit Supergirl auf und erklären ihr, wie Reactron besiegt werden kann. Deshalb schmilzt Supergirl eine Statue mit ihrem Hitzeblick und taucht ihre rechte Hand in flüssiges Blei. Mit dieser Hand enfernt sie den Kern aus Reactrons Anzug und kann ihn so besiegen.
