What was 'One child policy'?
A rule from the government that people only had one child.
Define an anti-natal policy?
An anti-natalist policy is a population policy which aims to discourage births. This can be done through education on family planning and increased access to contraception, or by law (China—One Child Policy.)
When was one child policy introduced and when did it end?
Introduced in 1979 and ended in 2015.
Why was it needed?
Fertility rate: 6.4 in 1965, 1.62 in 2016
