of a problem and then take steps to prevent it. Ethical concerns in regards to if this is a good idea? CRISPR – Using a bacterial defense system to splice into our DNA and edit our genes.
11 Heritability How much of our differences/variations can be attributed to our differing genes? Refers to the variation within the group, NOT the influence of nature or
nurture. Heritable trait is one that is capable of being passed down from parent to child. The more similar the environment, the more heritability can explain differences between people. The more alike the environment, the higher the percentage of heritability (likelihood their differences were caused by their genes).
12 Gene-Environment Interaction 13 Epigenetics Epigenetics – studies how environment can trigger or block genetic expression Diet, drugs, stress affect epigenetic molecules on your DNA This explains why two identical twins could have the genetic precursor for a mental disorder but only one ends up having it. Click on this infographic for an informative link
explaining Epigenetics more 14 Epigenetics Genes are like computer hardware. Epigenetics are like the software that runs the computer. Change the software, and you change the way the computer operates. Experiences of previous generations alter the epigenome then get passed on to the next generation where it can
affect who we are. Epigenetics in Rats (3 min) What is the study of the relationship between genetics and environment?the study of the relative power and limits of genetic and environmental influences on behavior Environment every non-genetic influence, from prenatal nutrition to the people and things around us Chromosomes threadlike structures made of DNA molecules that contain the genes
What is behaviour genetics?Behavior genetics the study of the relative power and limits of genetic and environmental influences on behavior Environment every non-genetic influence, from prenatal nutrition to the people and things around us Chromosomes threadlike structures made of DNA molecules that contain the genes DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid)

What would a behavior geneticist most interested in studying?C. personal space. D. the environment. 4. The study of the relative power and limits of genetic and environmental influences on behavior and personality A. molecular genetics. B. evolutionary psychology. C. behavior genetics. D. gender typing. 5. A behavior geneticist would be most interested in studying hereditary influences on A. skin color.
What is the study of the relative power and limits of genetic and environmental influences on behavior?Behavior Genetics - The study of the relative power and limits of genetic and environmental influences on behavior.
What is the study of specific genes and teams of genes that influence behavior called? The answer for this one is a molecular genetics. Molecular genetic studies how much your genes affect or influence your behavior.
What is the study of how the environment influences the expression of genes known as?Epigenetics is the study of how your behaviors and environment can cause changes that affect the way your genes work. Unlike genetic changes, epigenetic changes are reversible and do not change your DNA sequence, but they can change how your body reads a DNA sequence.
What is the study of the evolution of behavior and the mind using principles of natural selection?evolutionary psychology, the study of behaviour, thought, and feeling as viewed through the lens of evolutionary biology. Evolutionary psychologists presume all human behaviours reflect the influence of physical and psychological predispositions that helped human ancestors survive and reproduce.
