One needs enough time for preparations. It is a challenging test that requires you to apply Nursing knowledge to practice and critical thinking skills. It is recommended to take at least 1-2 months to review for the test.
Being a computerized
adaptive test (CAT) exam, the computer selects questions based on your ability and competence as demonstrated on your answer to the previous question. Most of the questions on the NCLEX-RN are written at the application and analysis level. Test questions integrate the nursing process and the four client needs. Questions will be presented in a variety of formats such as multiple choice, multiple response or Select All That Apply (SATA), fill-in-the-blank, calculation, drag and drop, and/or hot
spot. Questions may include multimedia such as charts, tables, graphics, sound and video.
Our NCLEX-RN online Mock tests are based on the newly updated syllabus. It contains questions in the same format as that of the actual NCLEX-RN exam ensuring that the overseas nurses pass the exam by preparing with this material.Question Title
Which action would the nurse take when calculating a clients heart rate on an ECG strip
A nurse is determining a client's heart rate on an ECG strip. Which action should the nurse take? Count the QRS complexes. The best way to count the heart rate is to count the QRS complexes.
Simply identify two consecutive R waves and count the number of large squares between them. By dividing this number into 300 (remember, this number represents 1 minute) we are able to calculate a person's heart rate. Rate = 300 / number of large squares between consecutive R waves.
Count the number of QRS complexes on a 6 second rhythm strip and multiply by 10 to determine the heart rate. Count the number of big blocks between QRS complexes and divide into 300 to determine the heart rate.
What does an ECG measure? It measures the electrical conductive impulses of the heart muscle, allowing the physician to see any disturbances or disruptions in normal heart activity.
