Ông Ammar Dweik, lãnh đạo điều hành CEC bày tỏ lo ngại sâu sắc về các biện pháp an ninh của Israel gần đây áp dụng đối với các thành phố, làng mạc của Palestine ở Bờ Tây và Dải Gaza, cũng như các hoạt động quân sự của Israel diễn ra trên lãnh thổ Palestine. Ông Dweik nói: “CEC không tin tưởng vào những điều quan chức Israel hứa hẹn về việc tạo thuận lợi cho cuộc bầu cử bằng cách bỏ các trạm kiểm soát.
