While Der DJ aus den Bergen is presented as a full new album by Austrian dance/party schlager singer DJ Ötzi, it is actually more of an updated version of his 2010 record Du und Ich, repackaging ten of that album's 15 songs with a number of new tracks. The single "I Sing a Liad für Dich" (a rewritten cover version of an Andreas Gabalier song) is included in two versions, a single version and a "karaoke version." Also new are the Christmas-themed "Ring the Bell"; a dance version of his duet with Kate Hall, "Tränen"; and the title track, which was originally recorded by Die Klostertaler. The set is rounded off with the inclusion of "Sweet Caroline" (previously released in 2009) and an almost seven-minute "Disco Megamix 2012."
